How to use the toolkit

There's a remarkable breadth of career options open at Unilever. And whether you intend to apply to us or are considering a career in a different field, deciding what's best for you can be difficult.

Knowing which is the right path for you requires real self-knowledge. So we've created this toolkit to help you learn more about yourself, which will help you choose the right career. 

In fact whether you're a recent graduate or an experienced professional, this exercise will help you reach a better understanding of who you are and what you want from your career – with Unilever or from any other organisation you apply to. 

But rest assured, this exercise is solely for your personal benefit and entirely separate from our selection process. No-one but you will see your answers. 

Step-by-step guide

Follow the links on the right. We recommend you start with 'My Goals', and progress as suggested – but there's nothing to stop you finding your own way around as you prefer. You can either complete the entire exercise in one go, which will take about one hour and 15 minutes, or come back to it in your own time. 

This toolkit has been created for your personal use and in no way is part of our selection process. However it does reflect our approach to career development. For example we encourage people to:

• Be self-aware and honest about your strengths and weaknesses 
• Make plans for self-development and professional growth 
• Build your networks and listen to advice 
• Make clear, well considered and timely choices about your career

Of course, whether or not you explore this exercise is up to you. Every individual has their own way of thinking about their personal and professional direction. We simply hope it will be of use.
