The Choices programme

Unilever participates in the Choices Programme, the world-wide initiative designed to make the healthy choice the easy choice.

Making good foods easy to choose

Choices offers a front-of-pack stamp indicating a healthy choice within product categories. In countries that participate in the programme, you'll find the Choices stamp on foods and drinks that meet qualifying criteria based on international dietary guidelines.

Busy shoppers

You may lead a busy life but that doesn't mean you don't care about healthy eating. Most shoppers take only a few seconds when choosing food items, so the Choices stamp will help you quickly identify a healthy option to form part of a nutritious and varied diet.

Taking a lead with a healthy food & drink labelling system

Choices Programme is an open food industry initiative. Food manufacturers, retailers and caterers are increasingly using the Choices stamp on their products that meet the criteria. The Choices International Foundation manages the Choices Programme globally.

Understanding information on nutrition

It can be confusing to know exactly what's a 'healthy choice' when it comes to buying foods and drinks. All too often there's a lack of straightforward information. That's where the Choices stamp comes in. A single, clear stamp is available to help you rapidly identify products that are in line with internationally-accepted dietary advice.

At Unilever, we use the Choices stamp in addition to existing nutrition information, such as Guideline Daily Amounts (GDA), to help people make informed choices. Choices gives an identification of healthy options, which meet the qualifying criteria and as such can only be found on a selection of the food and drink offerings. GDA gives more detailed and necessary nutrition information about the contribution to your daily intake and this information will be found on all products. By providing both GDA and the Choices stamp, where applicable, we can offer multiple tools for making healthy food and drink decisions. Carelines and website details are also available, which provide even more information.
